My friend Angie graciously invited a few members from our Altered Art Group to an enameling class that was put together just for us!!Thank you Angie and Joanna!! Her friend and part-time boss Joanna from Bellevue Beadery was an exceptional and very generous instructor. I had never done this before and wasn't to sure about it in the beginning, but once you get going, there is no stopping! You become addicted to it!!
"Sounds of Space" by Ellen Goldman from Holland
All the enameled art pieces pictured in this post are from a museum that is connected to the enameling studio.

The pieces are collected from all over the USA and the world. It was a pretty awesome display of work!

This is the booth I was shared with fellow artist Angie B., who is a mixed media jewelry artist. The weather was 65 degrees and a bit chilly. We had a steady flow of people all afternoon and a few sales. The best part was the feedback from the public. Comments regarding my work ranged from being twisted to whimsical. Twisted was a first for me!
This is toward the end of the show when everyone was breaking down.
This is the view from our booth
This is also the view from the park. The city across the Ohio River is Cincinnati. We were in Northern Kentucky.
Over all , the show was good. It was a Fine Art Show and lots of awards were given.

Trying to get ready for an art show on Mother's Day and it's a bit of a struggle. Too many things going on and time seems to be running out. Pictured above is Olive and she measures about 15.5"x5.5". The green fabric was worked into a textured fabric that I have been experimenting with. The black tulle was added at the last minute and there are small glass beads randomly sewn on to the texured green fabric.

Unfortunately I don't have anything for Spare Parts Monday. My daughter made her 1st Holy Communion yesterday and so I have been busy with family visiting from out of town and doing lots of cooking for the blessed event! It's been raining for 2 days straight, and the priest giving the homily yesterday pointed out that the rain pouring down were angels tears of joy for them in being able to receive the Holy Eucharists. It was a very beautiful ceremony.
