The hubby had a couple of used paint brushes and asked me if I wanted them before he threw them away? Of course I can't say no to almost anything given to me, so I kept them.
This piece was inspired by the work of
John Whalley. His paintings are phenomenal!!
The red background are painted egg shells. The fibers are ink stained cheese cloth I retrieved from the printmaking studio.
A couple years ago when I was at Artfest, someone threw some paint brushes in the garbage because they'd forgotten to rinse them, so they got stiff with paint.
ReplyDeleteOF COURSE I rescued them. They are in a basket in my studio, just waiting for the perfect project. *laughs* As I've told my students over and over and over again, my mantra is "There is no garbage!"
Glad to know I'm not the only one! ;)
Lelaina - The only problem with saying yes to all garbage is storage! My little studio is getting jammed packed with things.
ReplyDeleteLove this one.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to no garbage, but storing it, and remembering where it is stored is a problem.
One persons garbage is another ones treasure. I can identify with the space issue. My home studio is getting too cluttered. Love the piece and the processes.
