The hubby had a couple of used paint brushes and asked me if I wanted them before he threw them away? Of course I can't say no to almost anything given to me, so I kept them.
This piece was inspired by the work of John Whalley. His paintings are phenomenal!!
The red background are painted egg shells. The fibers are ink stained cheese cloth I retrieved from the printmaking studio.

A couple years ago when I was at Artfest, someone threw some paint brushes in the garbage because they'd forgotten to rinse them, so they got stiff with paint.
OF COURSE I rescued them. They are in a basket in my studio, just waiting for the perfect project. *laughs* As I've told my students over and over and over again, my mantra is "There is no garbage!"

Lelaina - The only problem with saying yes to all garbage is storage! My little studio is getting jammed packed with things.

I can relate to no garbage, but storing it, and remembering where it is stored is a problem.
One persons garbage is another ones treasure. I can identify with the space issue. My home studio is getting too cluttered. Love the piece and the processes.
