4th of July at the Smokey Mountains & Bella

A family member had a time share and we were invited to come spend the weekend in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It was about a 5 hr drive for us and the kids handled it fairly well.

We had a two bedroom condo that we shared with another couple. From our balcony, the view was just beautiful.
We spent little time in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg because it was insanely crowded for the holiday. We were told that Gatlinburg has the very first 4th of July Parade in the country. It began at midnight and that was way past my bedtime. So needless to say, we didn't even attempt to see it!

We spent quite a bit of time in the mountains playing in the river. I just LOVE a river with crystal clear water running through it. We hopped our way down the river on the rocks and a few of us meet our fate with a spill into the river. My kids would have been content with just doing this all weekend, but luckily they were not in charge of the trip.

This is me and hubby relaxing and enjoying our time away from everything that weighed heavy on us regarding my health. No appointments, no doctors, no devices, no shots!! It was great to get my mind off of those things for a short time.

This is Bella! I made the wire cage last year and she just came together for me just this week.

Nice photos. I'm in Ontario Canada but had the pleasure of visiting Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge TN 3 years ago.

Prayers for your health. Time in the Smokies is rejuvinating - getting in touch with nature and grounding. I'm sure the river water was cool and refreshing...
Bella - such a sad face on a happy flouncy skirt, maybe tells of the duplicity of life. She makes you wonder. Hope to see you tonight at ASOM.
