The textured fabric I had made last week has found it's place in my art doll world! I wanted to continue using the wooden dolls I have been making, so I combined the textured fabric with wood, wire, clay and porcelain.
To keep the skirt puffed up around the waist line, I had to put several layers of a stiff fabric underneath. She measures about 15.25" in height. She is all legs underneath that skirt!

That textured fabric is just unbelievable - wonderful, Carla! I could see it used behind the doll, as well.
Renate - I did try it behind a doll and I guess I didn't have the right doll for it, so I felt compelled to use it somehow!! If I had waited to find the right doll, that would have been way too long. I was too impatient!
I think it would make a great back ground for photographing.
What an amazing fabric you have created was it difficult to make?.......and of course another fantastic doll.
the skirt is just fabulous! what kind of stiffener did you use underneath? tulle?
Are you curious about me - Thank you!!
It is fairly easy. You just need a little patience to hold the fabric in the place as you work it.
Dee/Cloth Company - Thanks! I actually took some very stiff cheese cloth that I use for print making and layered it underneath. Then I fluffed it out like you would a paper flower. Worked like a charm. I only needed it for the area right below the waist line in order for it to hold it's shape.
Oh, she is lovely....I feel a collection coming on....xo Julie
