Domino Art Doll

I was able to score these vintage dominos on Ebay, and I love the natural color of the wood!! There was a similar set for sale on Etsy, but triple the cost, so I lucked out. 

There are actually five dolls I made and just listed.

Our Blessed Mother and The Christ Child

I have these wonderful holy card images and I finally found some time to create a collaged art quilt.

The background was done with scrap papers, pieces from some of my etchings, scrap linen and canvas.

 My mother taught me how to sew at a young age and so I use to make a lot of my clothes. However, since having kids, most of my sewing is done with collages or mending things. I have an old Kenmore Sewing Machine that is made out of metal and I have had that for years. It is heavy to tote around. Now a days the sewing machines are made of plastic and light weight.

Last week I had been playing around with my stack of scrap metal. I was inspired by the birds created by Leighanna Light. I haven't taken a class with her, so I had to wing it. Ha! ha! A little bird humor.

I used scrap metal, cold connections(brads, bolts/screws, wire, & grommets) I did apply a little of glue between some pieces to keep them from moving around. Anyway, it was fun and a nice distraction from dolls. Now to figure out how to incorporate this technique with my dolls?!
