MIxed Media Quilt Collages

+
"Forever"
I get restless very easily, so I painstakingly look for something different to stimulate my creative motor.
I've dabbled with quilting in the past, and it has been on the mind for a long while.
Both pieces were created from scratch, meaning no preconceived idea of what I was going to do.
I seem to work better that way.

"Reflection"
This mixed media collage piece was created using several of my older etched prints. I cut the prints into    sections and then started to piece them together. Various papers, fibers and fabrics were also in the mix.
Everything on this piece was hand sewn.

these are fabulous. and this is why you rock as an artist, you keep it varied and are not afraid to try new things.

I love both pieces. You should definitely do more with cloth. :)

You're work is always very inspiring to me. I want to reach through the screen and grab hold of it to study it closer. Then, gently place it back. Remarkable.

Really cool stuff Carla, you might consider sewing your paper with a machine. The is an artist that does that to great effect. Her name is Anne Bagby. She has a web site. She also had a write up in Art Doll Quarterly a year or so back.

I just went to etsy and saw that "FOREVER" was indeed for sale so I just bought it! Yippee. And I also bought the Paint Brush doll because she is a "queen" to go with the queen of yours I purchased last year! If I had enough $$$$$$, I would do an entire wall of my house with ALL of your assemblages. I am totally in love with your art.

Mrs. Art Doll Maker - Thanks for your kind words for stopping by!

Cody - I have every intention of using the sewing machine, however, it is soooo darn cold in the basement that I'm too lazy to warm the room to work right now! Maybe I will get motivated this weekend.

Renate - Thanks! I'm hoping to combine more of my prints with the fabric.

QueenMarcy - Thank You!!! Forever is one of my favs too! That paint brush queen has been waiting for you!
